OPEN POSITIONS
- Laborer:
- Employee will complete the common tasks below:
- Installing different types geosynthetic materials to include physically pulling materials into place for seaming.
- Repeatedly lifting, carrying, filling sand bags weighing 50-75 pounds, and cleaning up scraps/trash from job site.
- Work in groups of four or more people deploying geosynthetic products.
- Steps include:
- Pulling panels geosynthetics in place by hand. An example would be a panel on HDPE membrane 23’ x 300’.
- Setting overlap (moving panels up to 6 inches) by hand.
- Ballasting geosynthetics utilizing filled sandbags. Move and place sandbags on panel edges.
- Steps include:
- Install geosynthetics at different projects in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
- Employee will complete the common tasks below:
- Laborer Level 2:
- The employee can use a leister and grinder efficiently in the process of welding polyethylene geomembrane.
- The employee demonstrates general knowledge of the installation sequence of geosynthetics.
- The employee has received a knife use evaluation from immediate supervisor.
- Employee has not received any disciplinary actions in the past 90 days.
Definitions of Tech Level:
- Tech Level 1:
- Employee can Leister, grind, test samples using a tensiometer and weld using extruder and wedge welder with assistance from higher level technician.
- Employee may receive guidance in machine set up from higher tech level, but they must weld samples themselves.
- Tech Level 2:
- Employee must meet Tech Level 1.
- Employee must be able to use a sewing machine with no assistance.
- Employee can leister, grind, test samples using a tensiometer and weld using extruder and wedge welder with no assistance.
- Employee must be able to set up extrusion and fusion welding machine from a blank state for two different types of polyethylene geomembrane.
- To maintain Tech Level 2 status, employee must have a minimum of two consecutive months with no failed destructs with no more than three failed destructs during any calendar year.
- Tech Level 3:
- Employee must meet Tech Level 2 criteria.
- Employee must be able to set up both extrusion and fusion welding machines from blank state for three different types of geomembrane.
- Polyethylene
- PVC
- RPP
- To maintain Tech Level 3 status, employee must have three consecutive months with no failed destructs with no more than two failed destructs during any calendar year.
- Master Seamer:
- Employee must meet Tech Level 3 criteria.
- Employee must pass welding proctor consisting of 5 peels and 5 shears with the following type of geomembrane:
- RPE
- XR-5
- 20 mil scrim reinforced
- Employee must be an IAGI certified welding technician.
- To maintain Master Seamer status, employee must have nine consecutive months with no failed destructs with no more than one failed destruct during any calendar year.
- Foreman:
- Employee must be meet the Tech 3 criteria.
- Employee must be an approved driver.
- Employee must be certified and proficient at operating the following equipment:
- Forklift
- Excavator
- Skid steer
- UTV
- Employee must have a minimum of 5,000,000 SF of geomembrane installation experience on their resume.
- QC in Training:
- 3-6 months of geomembrane installation experience
- Meet Tech Level 1 requirements
- Basic computer skills:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Employees will spend approximately 6 months in QCIT role learning the systems and processes of being a Quality Control Technician.
- QC Level 1:
- Employee must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Employee must have the ability to complete record drawings with the assistance from higher level QC.
- Employee must have a minimum of 1,000,000 SF of geomembrane installation on their resume.
- QC Level 2:
- Employee must meet QC Level 1 criteria.
- Employee must be proficient in the use of software with no assistance from higher level of operator.
- Employee has ability to complete all daily required paperwork.
- Employee must be an approved driver.
- Employee must have a minimum of 2,000,000 SF of geomembrane installation on their resume.
- QC Level 3:
- Employee must meet QC Level 2 criteria.
- Employee must be an IAGI certified welding technician.
- Employee must have a minimum of 4,000,000 SF of geomembrane installation on their resume.
