The demand for different types of consistent and reliable energy is continuing to grow within the nation and the world. Along with this increasing need comes a delicate balance between the economics, and the environmental impacts of energy production. At ICS, we make it our priority to deliver quality, leek-proof liners that will not only help increase energy generating efficiencies and capacities, but also protect the environment by containing potential contaminants.
OIL & GAS
Geosynthetic applications for the oil and gas industry range from drilling and production through delivery and consumption. Containment and reserve pit liners keep wastewater out of the surrounding surface and groundwater, protecting our environment. Brine pit liners contain water and chemical mixtures on-site and ready to assist in retrieval of your stored crude oil, or safe disposal in geosynthetic lined evaporation ponds. Both on and off the drill site, liners have a wide array of secondary containment uses including around rigs, under pipelines, at refineries, around the storage tanks at gas stations and more. ICS has the experience to keep your oil and gas operations contained.
POWER PLANTS
When it comes to power plants, geosynthetic lining systems are most used in the various forms of water delivery and transportation, and disposal of spent energy-generating materials. Geosynthetics aid in directing source-water to or from the plant, collecting and retaining rainwater, and forming cooling ponds for both once-through and recirculating systems. On the disposal end, coal ash basin liners and closures are regulated by RCRA Subtitle D, and have specified, mandated containment guidelines for human end environmental health. The ICS Team is here to ensure that your project meets all lining requirements to safeguard the surrounding environment.
HYDROELECTRICITY
Geomembrane usage in hydroelectricity generation is varied and can help increase both efficiency and consistency. A geosynthetic lining system can help decrease the loss of water through seepage into the ground in impoundments. They can also be used to repair or prevent leaking and further damage when applied to the dam’s upstream face. Diversion power plants typically use canal liners to effectively direct water to power houses and prevent erosion. Pumped storage ponds can also be lined to retain as much water as possible and provide the greatest system efficiency. Our knowledgeable team is standing by to assist in making your hydroelectricity project watertight.
